A-la Provence or what it may be – new kitchen curtain

A-la Provence or what it may be - new kitchen curtain

It’s so retro and so very village.

Farmhouse

Actually, there’s not much choice between styles when you try to cozy up a 1980s farmhouse kitchen. Metal or glass would have ruined the harmony here, with those wooden floors, wooden ceiling, rustical kitchen cupboards etc.

You either start from zero point […]

Must be a tribute to Jack Nicholson 😀

Veera, sister of Asta

Veera, sister of Asta

… declined the possibility to be our guest, and the fact makes me a very happy panda 😀

Many other Finnish towns in Pirkanmaa, Keski-Suomi, Pohjois-Savo, Kainuu and Koillismaa regions were not so fortunate by far. The devastating storm on Wednesday left behind around 30,000 households without electricity, a few buildings on fire, 3 […]

(Thunder)storm alert all across Western Finland

(Thunder)storm alert all across Western Finland

I can hear wind howling loudly outside, so what the meteorologists say is hardly an overestimation… Probably our case will not be so harsh as Asta that caused a lot of a problem in Eastern and Southern Finland, however HS recommends today to secure extra food and water supplies, radio, and batteries for about […]

We do not need to go to the Zoo

We do not need to go to the Zoo

… ’cause the Zoo is right here 😀

Went outside to check the mail and saw those two chilling out on a meadow nearby.

Were they afraid of the camera? You must be kidding. Not the least sign of fear. It is only when I was at about an arm distance from them that […]

Nothin’ can spoil it, even a whole day of rain 🙂

I am really missing the traditional cool and wet Finnish summer. Believe it or not 🙂

Sorta military stuff

Sorta military stuff

Looks like we’ve got something interesting to do this coming Saturday. US Marines finally located Western Finland on their maps and are coming to visit on board USS Simpson (yes! the Simpsons in da Vaasa! hurra! lol) frigate. Some Oliver Hazard Perry kind, have no idea what it is 😀

UPDATE:

Ahaa. Here’s what […]

Wildflower Day

Wildflower Day

is celebrated today in Vaasa (according to Vaasalaisia.info). Love the idea. Here’s my contribution:

Shaken, not stirred

Shaken, not stirred

We had a miniature earthquake here in Vaasa last night 🙂

Around 23.30, the walls of the house started trembling a bit and we heard dingdiling of porcelain in the cupboard. Did not last long though, did not scare anyone either. If we already slept we wouldn’t even know.

UPDATE

Yeah baby! it was […]

That is the description the author of a sell ad has provided for his lot.

Vauvauinti - Baby Sim - Baby Swim

Went to try it for the first time today at Tropiclandia, all three of us including of course baby Alisa.

Sooo much fun! although we had to wake up at 6 a.m. which is torture taking into account Saturday 😀 But as soon as we got there our moods were up & high. About […]
